Beginning in 2009, the two dams that span the Elwha River on the Olympic Peninsula of Washington State will be removed. The removal of these dams, and the restoration of the Elwha watershed constitute the largest such project in the history of the world!
This website provides resources, links and lessons for teachers and students to learn about the Elwha River and scientific, political, social, and economic implications of restoring the watershed to its original state.
